Cake Poker Explodes in Growth Thanks to Sportsbook

Sep 26 2008 - 11:57pm

For anyone who thinks an Internet sports book can't help to boost players at an online poker room, look no further than Cake Poker. It's relationship with Gambling911.com heavy hitter Sportsbook.com has witnessed this online poker network climb into the Top 10 in just a matter of weeks.

For Sportsbook.com, this is the start of busy season (September thru April) and business has never been better. The online sports book giant uses Cake Poker as its exclusive "skin". Cake does little advertising elsewhere and they have a reputation for being tightwads with little marketing expertise, but Sportsbook.com's superior presence has helped them immensely.

A look at recent "real cash" players showed that Cake had averaged 1240 for the week and were about to give the Everest Poker Network a run for its money.

Online poker affiliates were also starting to promote Cake heavy since so many players were already tied into PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker.

Cake Poker's journey started in 2004 when a small team of passionate poker players set out on a mission to design a better poker site. Each core team member brought extensive experience to the table from all aspects of the gaming industry, including database management, networking and video game design. In 2006, the ideas and execution of unique promotions and a better gaming experience finally came to fruition. The result, Cake Poker, provides players with a better poker experience, making the game not only more enjoyable but more rewarding. Not to mention they teamed up with Sportsbook.com to give them a great "in".

Cake Poker also acts as a standalone online poker network, separate from Sportsbook.com though we highly recommend Sportsbook.com being that they are offering 5 percent back on sports betting losses the remainder of this month.

So essentially you CAN have your Cake and eat it too.
