2012 WSOP Main Event Champ Greg Merson Throws First Pitch for Orioles Tuesday Ni

Greg Merson, the $8.5 winner of the 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event, threw out the first pitch at Tuesday night’s Orioles-Yankees game (May 21).

Merson announced the news on his Twitter feed:

Tossin out the first pitch for the O's Yankees game tonight. Hoping to give them some of my run good and stop this losing streak!

Perhaps Merson brought some of his WSOP luck with him as the Orioles beat New York 3-2 in 10 innings.

The 25-year-old Merson is an Orioles fan who grew up in Laurel, Maryland but currently resides in Toronto, Canada in order that he can continue playing online.  Merson overcame a cocaine addiction prior to winning the 2012 World Series of Poker.

And here is a shameless plug for those of you who like betting Baseball:  Gambling911.com is currently 15-4 over the past three weeks with our MLB free picks.  That’s a 79 percent win percentage over this time period.
