"Stupid Poker Player of the Decade" Breaks Back

You may recall seeing 22-year-old poker pro Shannon Shorr, a guy, playing last year's WSOP in a back brace and being pushed around in a wheel chair after he fractured two vertebrae and broke his heel.   The boys at WickedChopsPoker did a little investigation and came back with the following:

At the time he didn't say much about what actually happened, just that he was "horsing around" with his roommates when "a major accident happened at the house" (Shannon's blog post about it here).

Well, the accident, if jumping off a 15 foot ledge onto a deflated air mattress counts as an accident, was captured on film in all its jackass glory by his roommate Jerry "JLimbs" Limber, and it just got posted on YouTube today.

The following video contains offensive language not suitable for young children and women.

Shannon Shorr is a 21 year old professional poker player and former University of Alabama Civil Engineering student. He grew up in Birmingham, Alabama where he graduated from Shades Valley High School, where he was a standout prep baseball player. From there he attended the University of Alabama for 2.5 years before withdrawing to pursue a career as a professional poker player. Tuscaloosa, Alabama is still where Shannon calls home, but he has been on the road for the majority of the year playing live tournaments.

He seems to be doing well now, having just finished 25th in the FTP Sunday Million.  Shannon also describes how he was walking with him mum outside.

"I'm going to have to be responsible at some point," Shannon writes in his blog.
