Absolute Poker Offers Players Ten Times More Thrills than Party Poker

When it comes to attracting Texas Hold’em poker players to the online poker tables, Absolute Poker definitely has the chip lead. As of Wednesday afternoon ET, the jackpot of Absolute Poker’s popular Bad Beat Jackpot game had reached at an impressive $300,000. That number is nearly 10 times as big as Party Poker’s Bad Beat Jackpot, which sat at just over $31,000. Party Poker, however, is not open to US players.

“Poker Players worldwide are flocking to Absolute Poker to play Bad Beat Jackpot,” stated David Clainer, Senior Vice President for Absolute Poker. “The jackpot is constantly increasing and it’s only a matter of time before it bursts once again.”

Bad Beat Jackpot is just like regular Texas Hold’em Poker but with a slight twist. When seated at a Bad Beat Jackpot poker table, if a player loses a Texas Hold’em poker hand while holding four 8s or anything better, they will win a chunk of the Bad Beat Jackpot.

To help the jackpot build, $0.50 is collected from qualifying hands at Bad Beat Jackpot poker tables. The jackpot will keep growing until someone hits a qualifying bad beat, at which time a large percentage of it is distributed amongst the bad beat victim and the participants in the online poker hand.

On August 29th at 08:43 ET, the biggest Bad Beat Jackpot in online poker history was won when KADI, a Texas Hold’em poker player from Australia, lost a 10-high Straight Flush to a King-high Straight Flush. Seated at one of Absolute Poker’s Bad Beat Jackpot tables, KADI’s losing hand netted her $267,042.97 in cash. The pot winner walked away with $133,521.48 and the participants in the hand each earned $33,380.37.

Most recently, on September 14th, HH9302 walked away with $93,897.29 after hitting Absolute Poker’s $288.914.70 Bad Beat Jackpot.

The next poker player to lose a hand holding four 8s or anything better will win a large piece of the new jackpot. The participants in the bad beat hand will also share in the winnings.   Full details can be found at www.absolutepoker.com.

Absolute Poker Offers Cash For Creative Poker Player Avatars

It looks like art class is finally about to pay off. Absolute Poker today announced a new promotion that promises to pay cash for the best user-created avatars.

“We don’t care if you use crayons, finger paint, MS Paint or Adobe Photoshop,” stated David Clainer, Senior Vice President for Absolute Poker. “We’re looking for the most creative avatars out there and we’ve got cash to prove it.”

An avatar is a poker playing computer user’s representation of himself or herself in cyberspace. When an online poker player takes a seat at an Absolute Poker table, their avatar will be publicly displayed. If a player has not uploaded an avatar, the AP logo will be displayed in its place.

A visit to Absolute Poker’s Texas Hold’em Poker tables reveals that the majority of poker players have yet to create an avatar. According to Clainer, most poker players are too focused on trying to hit Absolute Poker’s impressive Bad Beat Jackpot that they have forgotten about the online poker site’s avatar feature. Clainer notes that the $100 incentive is a great way for any poker player to build a large bankroll.

Any avatars uploaded between now and December 31st will qualify for the promotion. Absolute Poker will choose their three favorites and award those poker players with $100 cash.
The site will also randomly select seven poker players each month to receive an entry into a $150,000 qualifier.
