Joe Brennan Jr: ‘I’m Not Anti-Federal But (Federal Online Gambling) Just Not in the Cards' (Video)

Appearing on the popular radio show this week, Interactive Media Entertainment and Gaming Association head Joe Brennan, Jr. wants everyone to know that legalizing online gambling in New Jersey is moving full steam ahead.

Brennan is an advocate for state rights, but insists he has nothing against federal legislation.  He just doesn’t see it happening any time soon.

Manitoba Launches Online Gambling Venture

BCLC set off on a new course for its online business today, announcing that it is partnering with Manitoba Lotteries to provide online gambling to Manitobans.

"We launched online gaming in British Columbia to provide a secure and legal option for people who play online and to keep revenues in the province that otherwise would be going to illegal gambling sites," said the Honourable Rich Coleman, Minister Responsible for BCLC. "We are pleased to share our expertise with Manitoba to strengthen regulated online gambling in Canada."

iMEGA Files Notice of Appeal Regarding Kentucky Domain Seizure

The Interactive Media Entertainment & Gaming Association (IMEGA) has submitted a Motion of Appeal regarding the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s attempt to seize 141 Internet domain names related to online gambling, some of which are no longer being utilized or have since been seized by the US Justice Department. 

On March 8, Judge Thomas Wingate ruled that no party with adequate standing had presented themselves to contest the forfeiture order issued nearly four years ago.

New Jersey Plans to Take Online Bets From Across US but Utah Can Fugetaboutit

A signature piece of legislation that would make New Jersey the second state to offer online gambling within its own borders made it through a state Senate subcommittee with ease despite earlier concerns of potential opposition.  Nevada became the first late last year but its law hinges heavily on a federal ban on Internet gambling being lifted.

New Jersey Internet Gambling Bill Passes Senate Committee

(Associated Press) - An Internet gambling bill approved by a New Jersey Senate committee Tuesday would let Atlantic City casinos take bets from gamblers in other states and even other countries, as long as federal and state authorities agree it’s legal.

New Jersey has been racing to try to get Internet gambling up and running and stake an early claim to leadership in a potential multi-billion-dollar industry.

Trump News Causes 888 Holdings Shares to Surge

Delaware Governor Jack Markell said on Wednesday that an expansion of gambling in his small state is possible, include Internet gambling.

(Reuters) - British online gaming company 888 Holdings' full-year earnings  nearly doubled, helped by strong growth of its casino and poker offering, and the company named Brian Mattingley as chief executive.

The company, which operates 888 casino, poker, sport and bingo brands, said it planned to invest in several newly regulated markets across Europe and the United States.

More Britons prefer to stay at home, watching TV and gambling online, updates from consumer-facing companies showed, amid fears that the UK will slip back into recession.

Playtech Enters Into Online Gambling Agreement With Mexico’s Caliente

Online gambling software firm Playtech has entered into an agreement with Mexico’s land-based casino and sportsbook operator, Caliente, to provide the company with online gambling software.

Caliente is looking to provide a suite of casino games created by Playtech.

“We are delighted to have secured this agreement with one of Latin America's largest and most respected gaming operators with whom, over time, we expect to develop a valuable relationship,” said Mor Weizer, Chief Executive Officer for Playtech.

Bodog has shut down its Costa Rica based office.  Employees reported arriving to find they were locked out.
