FUTUREBET RESPONDS TO COMPLAINT
At no time was the individual a licensee of
FutureBet. He was as a licensee of Global Interactive. While many in
the industry feel that GI was merely the predecessor to Future Bet, the
truth is that the two companies only shared a common minority
shareholder. In bringing Future Bet into the equation, the licensee was just trying
to gain more leverage to receive payment.
- In speaking with the previous managers of
Global Interactive, they entered into a settlement agreement with the
licensee last year. The agreement provided for several monthly payments to be
made to the licensee. In the event a payment was late, the sole penalty would
be a 10% additional fee. However, the agreement specifically stated that the
licensee would avoid any negative comments whatsoever in the event of a late
payment (again, the monetary penalty being the sole penalty). GI was
apparently late on making a payment, at which point the licensee began his
postings. GI reps. state that they've contacts the licensee on multiple
occasions stating that payment would be made as soon as the negative postings
ceased.
