Hot Team to Bet Right Now: Purdue (Sorry Ohio State Fans) - October 20

Ohio State may be the big favorite against Purdue Saturday evening but it is Purdue that's been hot Against The Spread, going 4-2 this season thus far.

It's interesting to note that, while Ohio State tends to get the brunt of the betting action each week as a high profile, high ranked public favorite, it is Purdue seeing 65% of the action as a +12.5 home dog.

Purdue rolled over Illinois 46-7 on Saturday, dampening the Illini homecoming festivities and dimming their postseason hopes.

AthlonSports has Saturday's Week 8 game falling within the spread:

"This is the kind of game that will seem more in line with the Big 12, not the traditional Big Ten. Both offenses can score lots of points quickly, with both defenses giving up yards and points. Ohio State is tremendously talented, but the defensive woes that have plagued the Buckeyes since Week 1 of the 2018 season have become magnified over the last month, and Purdue head coach Jeff Brohm will capitalize upon the mismatches that the Boilermakers present to opposing defenses. Purdue springs the upset, and Ohio State goes into their bye week to regroup for the November stretch run. Prediction: Purdue 49, Ohio State 42"
