What Will the Payout Be If Always Dreaming Wins the Preakness Stakes?

The payout on Always Dreaming winning this year’s Preakness Stakes would be $10 for every $14 bet.  Assuming he wins, the $14 is refunded and you would profit $10.  You would need to bet $28 to realize a $20 profit and $42 to win $30.  Again, all of these bets are refunded.

Always Dreaming is the odds-on favorite and, as such, comes in with the steepest price.  But -140 is a good value considering his stellar performance at this month’s Kentucky Derby and the perceived lack of competition in this upcoming weekend’s Preakness Stakes.
