You Can Really Bet on WWE Wrestling? Bookie Gets Slam Dunked Sunday Night

Online bookmaker Bovada.lv is likely regretting the decision to start taking bets on WWE Wrestling, and more specifically WrestleMania.

Sunday night the book got crushed by two big underdogs winning their respective matchups, a rarity in professional wrestling.

Brock Lesnar ended the Undertakers 21 consecutive win streak in WrestleMania events.  Lesnar was a 14-1 underdog, taking in nearly eight times more bets than the Undertaker, according to Fox Sports.

Some 1000 bets were taken on this matchup alone.

And the Undertaker wasn’t the only upset at this year’s WrestleMania with John Cena beating Bray Wyatt.

Bovada took in an impressive 5000 bets on this year’s Wrestlemania with the maximum wager set at $100.

Most online sportsbooks won’t take bets on professional wrestling, feeling that matchups are more scripted than reality.
