*Zynga Could Be Approved for Real Money Online Poker in Nevada by December - Zynga filed their application to offer real money online gambline in Nevada back in December of 2012. At the time, the window for approval was estimated at 12-18 months, although Nevada regulators do not issue official timeframes.

Sources close to the process suggest that Zynga’s suitability hearing is tentatively set for late 2013, probably December.  Zynga would still need to find a suitable partner in the sector/ (source: Online Poker Report)

“The biggest challenge is that there is no real non-Nevada Republican in the Senate that would take the lead,” said John Pappas, executive director of the Poker Players Alliance, which represents more than 1 million online poker players. “A lot of people viewed Kyl as being a very reasonable counterpart in all this, someone who can credibly go to gambling opponents [in Congress] and say, ‘This isn’t about expansion of gambling, it’s about regulation of activity that’s going on in unregulated fashion.’” (source: Roll Call)

*Caesars Entertainment Acquires World Series of Poker App - In a move to push deeper into social networks and online gaming, Caesars Entertainment has bought the World Series of Poker app from game maker Electronic Arts. The app is available for both Apple's iOS and Google Android devices. Caesars shares soared 27% on April 23 after the company, backed by $500 mil in funds from private equity firms Apollo Global Management and TPG Capital, announced plans to split into 2 companies.
