Online Sportsbooks Complaints Against BetOnline.com “Reviews” Sites

Gambling911.com on Tuesday began receiving complaints related to a “not-so-cool” marketing effort by the folks at BetOnline.com, a Panama City, Panama-based online sportsbook.

It seems that BetOnline.com is setting up individual sportsbook review pages that rate competitors.

Sure, some of the reviews are good.  The problem:  BetOnline.com is using the said “review sites” as a means of garnering Google and other search rankings at the expense of competitors, or at least trying.  The links, you see, go to the BetOnline.com website, not the online sportsbook under review.

“They are creating websites with review for every sportsbook and 
put the links to their site,” complained one operator.

The site in question is SportsbookReviews.mobi, with each review page assigned a specific URL extension in the hopes of garnering search ranking.  There are reviews for SBG Global and Bet Jamaica, to name a few.

Not all the reviews are exactly glowing.

Take for example, Jazz Sportsbook.

While the review suggests this company is relatively stable, BetOnline.com takes a few back-handed slaps at its well-established competitor.

Jazz Sports and its fellow byproducts of DPT Group, suffer considerably financially because patrons of the sportsbooks were pulling out. Nevertheless, Jazz Sports has bounced back over the last year, specifically from strong customer relations. The payouts are still reasonably slow, which is to be expected after being fined as highly as they were.

This is like saying Gertrude is a beautiful model but she has a bad case of Herpes.

“The creation of these websites is pretty appalling considering the principles in this company (BetOnline.com) are well respected and now they are going to end up pissing their fellow operators off,” said one sportsbook owner who wished not to be identified.

The customer service reps. do not know the Payout Rules 100%. One rep. told me to read the website which is confusing and hard to understand. Somebody please FILE A LAWSUIT or contact the Better Business Bureau for a Fraudulent Online Gambling WEBSITE! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND BODOG.COM AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO BETONLINE. I opened an account with BetOnline.com because they were rated #3 behind Bodog.com(Now Bovada) and behind Sports Betting according to a google search I did for top rated online sports wagering websites. All these online sports gambling sites are "shady outfits" with corrupt rules and policies. They should change the way they do business or shut them down. I think they changed their rules after I opened my account for min payout. Now it is $100 but, you can get a rebate if you withdrawl on Friday between 9am-1pm once per 30 days. $50.00 it says on their website.

I agree with you 100 percent! This website has a lot of scams going on. For instance, i made a 500 dollar deposit and was supposed to get 15 percent back because of the promotion that was going on. I put in the code CCARD in the promotion box. waited 24 hours and never received my money. I called customer service, they could barely speak English and told me that I never put in a code, then he told me they don't have any promotions like that, when it specifically says on their website still today!!!!!!!. I asked to talk to a supervisor 15 times and he would not do it. I will never make another deposit. Goto Bovada.com used to be bodog.com

I am also having problems getting payment of winnings from betonline.com. I tried getting payment several weeks ago but was told I had not met requirements. They wanted "action" equal to my deposit + bonus x 6, which would equal $1380.00. I did that & won.Once again I requested payout. They required paperwork with certain info faxed or emailed to them. I did that. Now they are saying they have not received it. I am going to try one more time to fax or email info to them. Has anyone actually gotten paid their winnings from them? And if so what did you have to do? At this point I am very uncomfortable with them having my information.

hi, i was mislead into believing betonline was a reputable company because i read customer reviews and online gaming reviews of it being in up and coming gambling website. 10-22- thru 10-23-11 i used my credit card to make a wager, i was given $15.00 in freeplay money because of the deposit method that was used. I lost the $15.00 in freeplay money but won over $490.00 with my own money. Now, i was told bby betonline that i will not be paid any of my money unless i spend $690.00 with them win or lose. They said it is clearly stated in their rules which is no where near the "ccbonus" that is offered when you make your initial deposit. claiming a roll over match rule. Please help to get my money or help others not to place bets with this site unless all rules are clearly stated. How can you force a gambler to keep placing bets?.

hi, i am the original filer of this complaint and i did what bet online asked of me and placed several wages over the amount that was required of me. Now, i have won more money and betonline is claiming i still have to bet more. Please, if there is anyone out there that has dealt with this site and knows someone please respond to this complaint.

looks like i'm in the same boat...wish i had seen your comments before i opened by account. I've won over $700 and been unable to get a payout...they're emails keep telling me my paperwork isn't complete but when i call customer service and resend the requested paperwork, they tell me everything is ok and i can get my payout...real screwy and disheartening. if you need more info and chat w/me, my email is steved03@gmail.com

Looks like betonline.com is no longer advertizing on g911 or this would never have been posted. A website trying to rank for a competitors' name, this must be a first on the Internet eh!
