Online Gambling Center of Curacao Under Venezuela Threat

The Netherland Antilles island of Curacao hosts a number of online sportsbooks and casinos.  It also sits right off the coast of Venezuela.  And now the island nation has come under threat from Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez.

Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen has summoned the Venezuelan ambassador to provide an explanation of statements made by President Hugo Chávez at the Copenhagen summit, where he accused the Netherlands of colluding with the United States against his nation by allowing military access to the Dutch Antilles. Verhagen denied that there is any aggression plot against Venezuela.

Chavez has ordered any unmanned drones entering Venezuelan air space shot down.  The Venezuelan leader considers Curacao part of his nation's air space based on statements made this weekend.

Curacao is home to one of the largest sports betting companies, Pinnacle Sports.  The Venezuelan island of Margarita Island was once home to nearly a dozen sports betting operations catering to the US market.

Curacao has more than gaming tables beautiful scenery - it also has the US 4th fleet. Chavez and Venezuela neither fears your Roulette wheels or seeks to steel your island. It fears El Norte - the US of A. The US has invaded before Venezuela imposing its will on the Venezuelan people. Chavez does not want it to happen again. You have nothing to fear from Venezuela and its antequated weapons. Whilst Venezuela has everything to fear from your northern guests.

thats total bull! Yes there is a fleet on the island, they are their to try to prevent more drug smuggling from happening. Unfortunmately my beautiful island is a perfect location to send these drugs on through to Europe and the rest. If the U.S. wanted to invade Venezuela they would have done so long time ago. If Chavez dont just take stuff and make it of the state and starts concidering Curacao fly space his own the U.S. nor the Netherlands would not even care about what he is doing. And by not allowing anti drug planes to fly or persuit it means he has something to hide. I have family in Venezuela and they are scared shitless for Chavez, I come from the island of Curacao and the people there do not embrace the idea of Chavez thinking the islands are his. We dont like the Dutch but we prefer the Dutch anytime over Chavez and all the arrogant Venezuelans. The U.S. has been on the island for a long time. Chavez is just paranoid and there is a saying. You trust your neighbour to be just like you. So if he is scared of an attack he probably has a bad concience! Fuck Chavez, he better not touch my island or I will come and look him up personally!

90% of food and your business comes from Venezuela. You allow the US criminals to occupy these islands so that the can pln their wars, and you will be caught in the middle thanks to your god damn monarquy. Clean up Curacao

Maybe Chavez should help Curacao by modernizing the oil refinery that treats Venezuelan oil 24/7. Will cut down on the number of cancer cases due to the horrible pollution it produces. BTW - Venezuela makes a lot of money from Curacao, it is not as if they send aid or food for free. Only things they dont charge for are the illegals who land on the beaches every night.

Get you facts straight! Venezuela does not send food or anything to Curacao! In fact it is our MONARCHY ( which by the way is a constitunional monarchy, meaning the queen doesnt have much to say ) that send us help and money and whatever it is we require! The people coming over to work on our beautiful island are there for a reason. You know what that is? Because if you look in the carribean you will probably not find many more places that have it as good as Curacao does. Yes we have problems just like anywhere else, however we are doing alot better than most. And that is because our monarchy provides for us. We do not need to be freed! We do not want some guy who thinks the U.S. is the evil of the world ( what has Chavez done to fight terror, hunger in the world ) , to protect the freedom of speech ( your tv stations are not allowed to speak any evil of Chaves, if that is not taking away you freedom than I do not know what is! ) ... I wonder who needs to be freed??? Wake up of your dream, maybe the changes Chavez has brought has done good for you. But trust me for many it hasnt! Get your facts straight before you say anything about my island again!
