No More Bodog.com in US:  Hello Bovada.lv

In with Bovada.lv and out with Bodog.com.

Bodog.com has stopped accepting US customers as of Wednesday December 14, 2011.

While the company planned to pull the Bodog.com and .eu domain names from US reach while offering a rebranding alternative, the move comes a bit sooner than previously expected.

Morris Mohawk, which has been licensing the domain name, will rebrand with “Bovada.lv”.

“Bovada” takes the “Bo” from “Bodog” and compliments “Vada”, which creates a friendly, sociable, charming nature, but causes you to be too easily influenced by others.

In Latvia, where the domain extension “lv” originates, “Vada” translates to “Chaired by” in English.

The site looks and feels like the old Bodog.com, probably because it utilizes the same exact software.
