Gaming Control Board officials announced on Tuesday that Nevada gambling revenues were up 5.7 percent with Las Vegas Strip casinos seeing a 3.3 percent surge.

Overall revenue generated included $932 million in the state and $531 million from the Vegas Strip casinos.

Downtown Las Vegas reported a 13.7 percent increase year over year to $45 million.

State gaming tax collections were up 69 percent in February to more than $70 million, according to gaming officials.

Meanwhile, the online poker sector reported a 2.8 percent traffic gain this week after eight consecutive weeks of declining numbers.

iPoker suddenly holds an 8 percent lead over PartyPoker, taking away control of the number 2 spot last week.  Party had enjoyed a fairly significant cushion between it and iPoker in recent months.  Party could receive a boost later this month when it hosts a multiple week long event, the PartyPoker Pokerfest.
