Investigation Widens Into Footballer Michael McIndoe and Gambling Exploits

Former Scotland B international footballer Michael McIndoe is accused of recruiting other players into investment ventures which collapsed and the United Kingdom's biggest bookmaker has turned over all relevant information tied to McIndoe's betting account for investigating authorities.

McIndoe is front and center of an elaborate £30million investment fraud that police believe is the biggest swindle ever to hit the British game.  Those who reportedly lost out include the likes of Irish legend Robbie Keane and one time Wiggin Athletic footballer Jimmy Bullard.

The Mirror reports:

Up to 100 players including former Spurs, Liverpool and Ireland legend Robbie Keane and ex-Fulham midfielder Jimmy Bullard are said to have been lured by promises of a huge 20%-a-month return.

The scheme is said to have involved massive gambling on soccer matches, for which William Hill is fully cooperating with authorities.

As if that weren't bad enough behaviour, McIndoe is accused of hiring around a dozen glamour girls to appear at a lavish event, then skipped on the £12k bill.
