Police in Chesapeake, Virginia, USA, said today that they will not be publicly releasing the official police report about the deaths last week of gambling news website operator Ken "The Shrink" Weitzner and his wife.

Weitzner, 54, and wife Jackie were found dead in the detached garage at their Chesapeake home last Saturday, victims of a double suicide.

"Virginia is not an open records state," Chesapeake Police Department spokeswoman Dorienne Boykin told Gambling911.com today. "The police are not legally required to release any information to the media or the public. We will not be releasing the full police report on this matter or any other information about it other than the basic incident report."

The incident report, released today, is a very bare bones account of the police department responding to a call at the Weitzners' residence and gives few details.

The incident report, according Boykin, reads as follows: "On Saturday, April 10, 2010, officers arrived at the 2100 block of Hickory Forest Drive at 10:42 a.m. The initial call was a report of a suicide, and then there was a report of another suicide.  The incident is under investigation."

Asked for a comment about the matter from Chesapeake police chief Kevin L. Wright, Boykin said Wright would not be making any comment and would not be available for an interview.

Donna Price, spokeswoman for the Tidewater District medical examiner's office, where the bodies were taken after discovery, told Gambling911.com today that her office had no comment on the Weitzner suicides and would not be releasing any information except the bare basics.

"The only information we will be releasing about the deaths is the cause and manner, and we are not prepared to do that at this time," Price said.

The cause of death is what specifically caused someone to die, such as drowning, a gunshot wound to the head or a heart attack.

The manner of death is how the death occurred, such as by accident, suicide or natural causes.

Asked for a comment about the matter from the medical examiner, Price said he would not be making any comment and would not be available for an interview.

Meanwhile, a memorial service for the Weitzners, attended by friends and relatives, was held today at the Oman Funeral Home & Crematoria in Chesapeake.

The couple is to be cremated.
