Darren Wright, one of two men indicted last week as part of an online gambling sting operation, insists he is not an owner in the firm BetED.com.  Wright’s claim follows that of a second man implicated as an “owner”, David Parchomchuk, who claims he is nothing more than a software developer.  Both men are charged with operating an unlawful gambling enterprise and targeting US citizens.

BetED.com closed days after the website was seized by the US Attorney’s Office out of Baltimore.  Maryland has long expressed distain over the online gambling sector, having once gone after the popular payment processor Neteller.

Wright, a Canadian citizen, has retained the law offices of Ledger & Associates out of California.

Parchomchuk is represented by Internet gambling attorney Jeff Ifrah, who has also acted as legal counsel for PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker.
