14 Companies Apply for Delaware Online Gambling Licenses

While the state may have less than 1 million people, that hasn’t stopped over a dozen online gambling companies from filing licensing applications to run i-Gaming businesses out of Delaware.

Topping the list is PokerStars, which is looking to purchase a hotel and casino in nearby Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Amaya Gaming, International Games Technology, SHFL Entertainment, Continent 8 Technologies, Stan James PLC, and 888 Holdings have each filed applications.

Delaware is one of three states that recently legalized online gambling within its borders.  Nevada and New Jersey are the other two.

Delaware anticipates offering real money Internet gambling by September 30.  The First State plans to offer bingo, poker, and other casino table games.  The state hopes to pursue sports betting online in the future.
