Week 5 College Football Odds 2009

Week 5 College Football betting odds were now available at BetUS.com.

Among the more high demand College Football odds:

Pittsburgh opened as a -6 ½ road favorite against Louisville.

Florida State was a -5 favorite on the road vs. Boston College.

Michigan vs. Michigan State was a pick.

Minnesota was a -3 favorite in a tight one against Wisconsin.

South Florida was a -6 ½ favorite versus Syracuse.

Georgia was a -2 ½ favorite at home against LSU, which plays the Gators next week incidentally.

Penn State was a -6 ½ road fav vs. Illinois.

Oklahoma was a -7 road favorite in Miami.  This one should be good!

Notre Dame was at -13 ½ vs. visiting Washington.

Texas Tech (OUCH) was at -35 vs. New Mexico, a team that beat them last time they met in 2004.   Alas, New Mexico was only a +4 ½ home dog then and not 0-4 as they are now.

Nevada was a -3 ½ home favorite vs. UNLV.

Arizona State was a -4 ½ vs. Oregon State at home.

Georgia Tech was a -4 ½ road favorite in Mississippi.

Tennessee was at -1 ½ at home hosting Auburn.  This line could move fairly quickly off that number based on early observations.

USC was a -5 ½ favorite on the road against California.

No. 1 Florida, No. 2 Texas and No. 3 Alabama held their places in the media poll released Sunday, but 15 teams moved up or down at least three spots after major upsets have continued to rattle sports bettors.  Online bookmakers are off to their greatest start in College Football ever with Week 4 the icing on the cake.

The results have left the 60 sports writers and sportscasters on the AP panel struggling to fill out their ballots.

"This was one of the toughest weeks I can remember in my 10 years of being a pollster, because after the top 3 there simply weren't any other squads that merited a top-10 ranking, much less a No. 4-5-6," Barker Davis of The Washington Times said in an e-mail.

LSU is up to No. 4 after barely avoiding an upset at Mississippi State on Saturday. No. 5 Boise State is in the top five for the first time in the regular season.

No. 6 Virginia Tech, No. 7 Southern California and No. 9 Ohio State are back in the top 10.
