TCU Horned Frogs vs. SMU Mustangs

The TCU Horned Frogs vs. SMU Mustangs spread was currently listed at TCU -17 with a Total of 55 at SBG Global.

The #4 TCU Horned Frogs are clicking and look to be in BCS championship form as they prepare to travel across the Dallas Metroplex to take on the SMU Mustangs on Friday night ESPN College Football.  Kickoff is set for 8PM Eastern.

TCU is 3-0 straight up and 2-1 against the spread with 2 out of their 3 games going over the total.  Last week the Horned Frogs destroyed Baylor 45-10 as 21-point home favorites with the game going under the total.  The Frogs rank 14th in the nation for total offense and 4th for total defense.  Senior quarterback Andy Dalton has furthered his case for the Heisman Trophy by hitting on 75% of his passes so far this college football bettingseason.  Dalton has passed for 624 yards and a 4/2 touchdown to interception ratio.  Sophomore Ed Wesley has been phenomenal out of the backfield with an 8.2 yards per carry average with 4 touchdowns.  Dalton will find the SMU pass defense tempting as it ranks 100th in the nation.

SMU is 2-1 both straight up and against the spread with 2 out of those 3 games going over the total.  The Mustangs scored a rather lackluster 35-21 win over a bad Washington State team last week as 24-point home favorites.  Sophomore quarterback Kyle Padron has been up and down with a 55% completion rate good for 643 yards and an 8/3 touchdown to interception ratio.  Sophomore Zach Line has averaged 7.7 yards per carry with 3 touchdowns.  Senior Aldrick Robinson has 11 catches good for 212 yards and 3 touchdowns as a legitimate breakaway threat.

SMU has covered the NCAA football bettingspread in 5 out of their last 7 matchups with TCU.  Last year the Horned Frogs scored a 39-14 win over the Mustangs but failed to cover as 28.5-point home chalks.  In their last trip to SMU in 2008 TCU scored a 48-7 blowout win as 24.5-point favorites.   Both matchups failed to clear the total.

TCU has covered 5 out of their last 6 road games while SMU has covered just 1 out of their last 5 home games.  TCU has failed to cover 3 out of their last 4 games as a favorite while SMU has gotten the money in 8 out of their last 9 games as a dog.
