The Philadelphia Eagles vs. Oakland Raiders line remained at -14 but we are already seeing trending upwards.  Anyone looking to bet the Eagles better do so quickly at -14 before that line disappears.  SBG Global was one of the books online that still offered the Eagles at -14.

The Eagles were getting over 90 percent of the action in this game so we certainly expect more books to push the line up.

The Eagles have blown out both of their last two opponents and there is nothing to suggest they won't do the same this week when one considers the Oakland Raiders could very well be the worst team in the league (or is that the St. Louis Rams?).  The Raiders were blown out themselves last week by the New York Giants.

One of the key things to consider before betting this -14 point line courtesy of NFL.com:

Beyond issues with accuracy, decision-making and reading defenses, JaMarcus Russell's biggest problem in recent weeks has been his ability to keep hold of the ball. He has lost four fumbles in the past two weeks. The Eagles have an attacking defense that has forced five fumbles this season, so Russell could be in trouble if he does not improve his ball security.

Russell is simply not effective.  But let's not be kidding ourselves here, this goes well beyond JaMarcus Russell.

Gwen Knapp of the San Francisco Gate put it like this:

"The Raiders backed up their coach Sunday. They lost a game so completely and atrociously that they confirmed Tom Cable's assertions that his team's problems went much deeper than the devastatingly inaccurate arm of quarterback JaMarcus Russell."

"The Raiders have pinned themselves in a corner by not acquiring a viable backup for Russell. They desperately want to groom their $32 million bonus baby, but right now, they're simply grooming him badly. Even as he has failed to establish himself as a leader, the rest of the team appears to be following him - in the wrong direction."
