More Bad News Potentially for Packers as Randall Cobb Injured: Latest Odds

Oddsmakers were still listing the Green Bay Packers as 7-1 favorites to win the 2016 Super Bowl, but bettors are hopeful the preseason isn’t serving as a precursor of worse things to come.

Saturday evening, receiver Randall Cobb exited the game with an apparent shoulder injury.  He had replaced Green Bay’s number one receiver Jordy Nelson, who is expected to be out most of the season with a knee injury.

He appeared to land on his right side while attempting to catch a pass from quarterback Brett Hundley along the sideline.

X-Rays came back negative early Sunday revealing that Cobb had not broken a collar bone as originally feared.  Still, his status for Week 1 against the Chicago Bears remains in doubt.

“I just caught the ball and was going down to the ground, and I had a guy land on top of me,” Cobb said, according to ESPN. “I was just jogging off the field at the end of the series, and I could feel the pain. I didn’t know exactly what it was. It was discomfort, and I let Doc check it out and we went back and got X-rays. It’s not what we think it could’ve been.”
