Odds to Win the 2014 NFC North: Packers, Bears, Lions, Vikings

Odds to win the 2014 NFC North had the Packers as a -147 favorite and the Vikings as a huge 20/1 underdog.  All odds courtesy of BetDSI.com here, where you can claim up to $2500 in FREE CASH.

Green Bay Packers -147

Chicago Bears +270

Detroit Lions +370

Minnesota Vikings +2000

The Packers lost Aaron Rodgers to injury last season and they were simply not the same team. The schedule this season is favorable for Green Bay although they do begin with a tough road game in Seattle.

The Chicago Bears were the highest scoring team in the NFC a year ago under head coach Marc Trestman but they didn’t play any defense. Chicago does face a much tougher schedule than Green Bay and, at under 3/1 odds, the value simply is not there.

BetDSI.com notes that, while Detroit finally got rid of Jim Schwartz as head coach, the question remains as to whether Jim Caldwell is the right man to lead this team.  “Quarterback Matthew Stafford also needs to prove he can be a winner because so far in his career he has failed in the clutch”.

And finally there are the lowly Vikings (at least that is what the oddsmakers appear to indicate).  Is there any hope for Minnesota?

BetDSI.com:The Minnesota Vikings have the best running back in the NFL in Adrian Peterson but they still don’t play any defense and they haven’t gotten good play from the quarterback position. The team finally got rid of Leslie Frazier and they brought in a good defensive coach in Mike Zimmer. If the team improves on defense and they get either Matt Cassell or rookie Teddy Bridgewater to play well at quarterback they could be a surprise team this season”.

At 20/1 odds, it might make some sense to place a small future wager on the Vikings to win this division.

J.J. McCarthy Drafted Number 3 Odds to Patriots

To be clear, the Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is pretty certain to land in Minnesota.  But what if the New England Patriots shock us and pick McCarthy at Number 3 before the Vikings get their opportunity at No. 5?

Bet on Jared Verse Draft Position

Jared Verse had an over/under selection number of 15.5 with CBS Sports believing the Florida State EDGE will be chosen by the Seattle Seahawks at No. 16.
