Missouri, Texas, Nebraska 2014 Odds - To Win National Championship

Missouri, Texas and Nebraska 2014 odds were between 85-1 and 120-1 to win the 2015 National Championship at BetOnline.

The Longhorns have the shortest odds of the three at 85-1.

They have a solid running game and a good defense but their schedule leaves little to be desired.

Scout.com breaks the schedule down:

It would've been nice to get a week off somewhere in the middle of the season, but instead Texas gets a break after UCLA and before a layup at Kansas. Baylor comes to Darrell K. Royal and Iowa State is part of the first part of the Big 12 slate, but with the showdown against Oklahoma in Dallas, there are only two home games between October 4th and Thanksgiving weekend. Three road games come in four weeks – going to Kansas State, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State – before getting a week off to rest up for TCU.

Texas has too high a price in the Seasons Win betting category (-170 to win OVER 7 regular season games).

Missouri had 120-1 odds of winning the National Championship and were favored at -130 to win OVER 7.5 regular season games. That price has some pretty good value, according to Athlon’s early forecast.  There are only four schools that get the edge on Missouri including Florida and South Carolina on the road.  Texas A&M and Tennessee are winnable swing games.

They have a rising star in Maty Mauk, who threw for 1,071 yards and 11 touchdowns in limited action last season.

They also had a +16 turnover margin last season, including a +12 in SEC play. The +16 number is the best for the Tigers since a +13 in 2007.

The defense may have issues with only four returning starters from last season.  They will also have to replace cornerback E.J. Gaines, no easy task.

Nebraska had 100-1 odds of winning the 2015 National Championship and were pegged to win at least 8 games this season.

J.J. McCarthy Drafted Number 3 Odds to Patriots

To be clear, the Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is pretty certain to land in Minnesota.  But what if the New England Patriots shock us and pick McCarthy at Number 3 before the Vikings get their opportunity at No. 5?

Bet on Jared Verse Draft Position

Jared Verse had an over/under selection number of 15.5 with CBS Sports believing the Florida State EDGE will be chosen by the Seattle Seahawks at No. 16.
