Blake Frazier of BetOnline.com noted:  “The Bulldogs are a team that likes to start fast, having outscored their opponents 70-9 in the first half of its last three wins, so if Wake Forest is going to have a chance they are going to have to bear down early. Containing Ballard will the toughest test, but the Demon Deacons are also going to have to find a way to score on their own against a tough SEC defense after getting blown away by Vanderbilt.”

He predicts a Bulldogs cover as the +6.5 underdog

He added:  “Mississippi State routed Michigan 52-14 in last year’s Gator Bowl on New Year’s Day, but this year’s team didn’t come close to matching the success of a group that finished   9-4 in 2010. This year marks the first time that the Bulldogs have become eligible for bowl games in consecutive years since 1999-2000, and their offense is powerful enough that they should have a strong chance to make it a successful one. Senior running back Vick Ballard rushed for 1,009 yards this season, and has registered 29 total touchdowns over the past two years. The Mississippi State defense finished 19th in points allowed, and should be up to the challenge after holding Ole Miss to just a field goal in their SEC finale.”
