The Memphis Tigers are hoping to maintain their position among the top 25 ranked College Football teams in the nation, clinging onto the #25 spot with a 5-1 record Straight Up but just 2-3 Against The Spread. They will face Houston as a +2.5 underdog

Five of the last six games in this series, with the exception of the last game, was won by Houston.

More importantly perhaps, Memphis only rates at number 50 in the Power Ratings.  Houston at 4-2 is listed at 58 in the Power Ratings.

The Power Ratings are used to determine betting lines.

On a neutral playing field the Tigers would be a -1.5 to -2 favorite while in Houston the line should be a PICK’EM.

If Memphis wins the AAC Championship game, it will be ranked ahead of South Florida and Central Florida by the College Football Playoff selection committee and may well be ranked ahead of every other school outside the Power 5, the Commercial Appeal notes.

They add that, if Memphis is ranked ahead of every other school outside the Power 5, it will be selected to play in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl on Jan. 1.

Memphis futures are hard to find but we believe it will be difficult for the Tigers to finish above the .500 mark Against The Spread to close out the season.
