Man City rivals Manchester United and Chelsea had differing results on Sunday with the Red Devils enjoying a win while Chelsea failed to score in its 0-0 draw with Stoke.   Two other competitive clubs, Arsenal and Liverpool, also drew on Saturday.

Manchester United beat West Bromwich 2-0.  Ashley Young's cross was deflected into the net by West Brom defender Steven Reid in the 81st minute. Wayne Rooney put United ahead 1-0 in the 13th minute, and West Brom evened the score in the 37th when Shane Long's angled shot went under David de Gea, renewing questions about the new 20-year-old Spanish goalkeeper.

"It was just a bit of concentration there, but welcome to English football," United manager Alex Ferguson said.

Man City will take on Swansea as a significant 2/9 favorite while both the draw and a Swansea upset would pay out extraordinary sums of money (500 euros or 1200 euros with a 100 euro bet, respectively).

35 percent of the action was coming in on Swansea City while another 11 percent was on the draw.  Man City had just over 50 percent of the punters backing.

At 12/1 odds, Gambling911.com was looking for any reason to place a wager on Swansea.

Just under three months ago Swansea clinched promotion with victory in the play-off final, a match estimated to be worth £90m.

Only QPR had a better defensive record than Swansea in last year's Championship. The Welsh side conceded 42 goals and kept 21 clean sheets (excluding play-off games).

On the negative side of the equation, Swansea has lost its last 5 season openers.

Manchester City have won five of their last six league matches.

They have gone 16 league and cup games without a draw.

Carlos Tevez has scored 43 Premier League goals since joining City in 2009, more than any other player in the top flight.
