The defending champs scored 51.6 PPG and have an all-senior offensive line to protect Heisman QB Jameis Winston (10.6 YPA, 40 TD, 10 INT). RB Karlos Williams (8.0 YPC, 11 TD), WR Rashad Greene (1,128 rec yds, 9 TD) and TE Nick O’Leary (7 rec TD) are the star skill-position players. The defense lost some superstars, but is filled with playmakers like DE Mario Edwards (3.5 sacks), LB Terrance Smith (59 tackles) and DB Jalen Ramsey (49 tackles).

In its review of the Noles, AthlonSports.com offered up a few reasons why Florida State deserves to be ranked number one and should win the 2015 BCS Championship.

Florida State has been arguably the best program in the nation at developing talent over the last few years and indeed they have averaged a 5.6 finish in recruiting rankings, placing the Seminoles No. 2 nationally behind Alabama.

The schedule is also promising and, barring any injuries or huge upsets, this Seminoles team could end the season undefeated.  Oddsmakers are allowing for one loss with the OVER/UNDER season wins at 11.5 and priced both ways at -115.

Athlon also notes that FSU does have the best offensive line in the country.
