Tim Tebow Injured

The Florida Gators have looked invincible and were the big favorites to win the 2010 BCS Championship.  Gators quarterback Tim Tebow lie motionless Saturday following an injury that resulted him being rushed to the hospital.  Tebow suffered a concussion and was released home Sunday morning.   In two weeks, they face LSU, their toughest competition yet following a bye.  It was not known if Tebow would be available to play against LSU.

With 3:57 left in the third and the Gators already up 31-7, Tebow was hit hard by Kentucky defensive end Taylor Wyndham.

As he fell back, his head struck teammate Marcus Gilbert's leg, violently bending his neck forward.

Tebow's parents made their way down through the stands while their son was tended to by Florida's staff and the senior eventually sat up and made his way off the field to a loud ovation. Tebow was eventually carted off the field, vomiting several times, as he was taken to a local hospital for tests.

"I don't know, I think it's a concussion," Florida coach Urban Meyer said at the time. "I think he'll be all right."

Tebow, who finished with 103 yards on 5-of-10 passing, was one of several players who were battling respiratory and congestive issues before the game started.

Kentucky coach Rich Brooks lamented the hit on the superstar.

"It was a clean hit," Brooks said. "It looked like it knocked him out."

Florida's Tim Tebow got knocked woozy. Miami and Florida State simply got knocked over.

No, Saturday was not a delight for Florida's three biggest teams.

At least the top-ranked Gators won: The defending national champions extended the nation's longest winning streak to 14, beating Kentucky 41-7 and surviving the scare of seeing Tebow lying motionless on the turf in the third quarter after taking two hits to the head.

"He's a tough nut," Florida coach Urban Meyer said. "We think he's going to be fine."
