The Green Bay Packers host the Indianapolis Colts tonight on ESPN at 8:00 EDT in what several experts are considering a Super Bowl preview. The Packers have been amazing offensively this preseason, yet have struggled on defense. The Colts typically could care less about the preseason, so it will be interesting to see their effort tonight. The Packers are -3.5 favorites, with a total of 44.5 PTS expected tonight.

Green Bay has been very inconsistent this preseason, with both preseason games ending in a final score of 27-24. While only 1-1 this preseason, the Packers have shown how brilliant their offense is, while troublesome defensive play emerges. Starting QB Aaron Rodgers has been brilliant this preseason, with a QB Rating of 154.0. Rodgers has thrown for 275 YDS this year, while completing 83% of his passes with 3 TD's. Backup QB Matt Flynn has thrown well too, he just needs to work on his decision making as he does have 2 INT's. Not only has the Packers defense struggled, the special teams units haven't done the team any favors. This preseason, the kickoff coverage has allowed huge return yardage, while also muffing the football in situations. Green Bay is a Super Bowl contender, if and when the defense and special teams step up to the level in which their offense is currently at.

The Packers are 1-1 both SU and ATS this preseason.

Indianapolis is proving yet again what so many have figured out over the years. The Colts simply don't care about winning in the preseason, regardless of who is coaching the team. It appears to be a front office decision, as there simply isn't any desire to win preseason games. The Colts have lost both games thus far by a total of 33 PTS. QB Peyton Manning obviously leads this Colts team, and so far this preseason his time on the field has been brief. Manning has thrown for 182 YDS, with 1 TD and 1 INT this preseason for a QB rating of 82.4. Backup Curtis Painter has shown a bit of promise, at least after his demise in the first preseason game. The most troublesome thing to come out of training camp for Indianapolis has been their defense. The Colts have allowed 34 and 37 PTS respectively, to the Bills and the 49ers. Indianapolis has been outgained by an average of 85 YPG to 2 relatively weakly offenses. Manning will certainly do his part this season, but will the Colts defense step up once the regular season begins?

The Colts are 0-2 both SU and ATS this preseason.

Pregame.com projects the final score to be 27-23 in favor of the Green Bay Packers. The Over 44.5 is the Total of the Day!
