College Football Picks – Week 4 2009

Gambling911.com has five College Football picks for Week 5 of the 2009 season with more still to possibly be offered.

Penn State -6 ½

Penn State Nittany Lions vs. Illinois Fighting Illini Odds are a reflection of past head-to-head matchups whereby the home team has won 6 of the last 7.  With that said, Penn State has dismantled Illinois in 4 of the last 5 games.

The Nittany Lions are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a road favorite.

The Nittany Lions are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in their previous game.

The Nittany Lions are 1-4 ATS, however, in their last 5 games following a ATS loss.

The Fighting Illini are 17-35 ATS in their last 52 games following a S.U. loss.

The Fighting Illini are 8-21 ATS in their last 29 games after accumulating less than 275 total yards in their previous game.

Illinois is 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog of 3.5-10.0.

The Fighting Illini are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games overall.

Wisconsin +2 ½

Wisconsin has won the last 5 in this series, including on the road.  They have won 8 of the last 10 with only one win above the 3 point odds now being offered at some online betting establishments.

Wisconsin vs. Minnesota betting odds trends include:

The Badgers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 conference games.

The Badgers are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games as an underdog.

The Badgers are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games as a road underdog.

The Golden Gophers are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game.

The Golden Gophers are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games following a S.U. win.

The Golden Gophers are 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.

The strongest trend of all is Wisconsin's past head-to-head history with Minnesota and that 8-2 record.  Minnesota has improved over this time, which is evident in the line being offered the last time the Badgers played there.  Minnesota was a +13 ½ point underdog.

Georgia -3 ½

Georgia has won the last three in this series and are 6-4 overall.  The home team has won 7 of 10.  It should be noted that the Bulldogs dismantled the Tigers in all three of the last victories.  In two of those games, Georgia was the underdog and in a 45-16 beating they were only a -3 favorite back in 2004.  Past head-to-head trends certainly favor the Bulldogs winning.

LSU vs. Georgia Odds trends include:

The Tigers are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games after accumulating less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game.

The Tigers are 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14 games as an underdog of 3.5-10.0.

The Tigers are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games following a ATS loss.

The Tigers are 5-16 ATS in their last 21 games on grass.

The Tigers are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. win.

The Bulldogs are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win.

The Bulldogs are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games as a home favorite.

The Bulldogs are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games as a favorite.

Past head-to-head results and betting trends that do not favor LSU has Gambling911.com feeling very confident about Georgia at -3 ½, even though we would rather have had them at the early -1 line.  This is our pick, Georgia Bulldogs -3 ½.

Other picks include Auburn at +2 ½ and the UNDER 48 in the USC/California game.
