Cincinnati Bengals Odds

The Cincinnati Bengals odds of winning the 2010 Super Bowl were at +10000 just two weeks ago at Sportsbetting.com for a payout potential of $10,000 on every $100 bet.  Their odds to win the AFC North were around +900 for a payout potential of $900 on every $100 bet.  While the likelihood of a Super Bowl win may seem far fetched so early in the season, anything is possible.  Just look at the Giants two years ago entering the season as 100/1 long shots.

This week, while we expect the Bengals odds to be slashed dramatically, there is likely to still be significant value.  Cincinnati plays in what may be one of the toughest divisions right now.  They beat the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday but that team just happens to be the reigning Super Bowl champions and were listed with 7/1 odds of winning the 2010 Super Bowl coming into this game.  The Baltimore Ravens, meanwhile, are looking like the team to beat in 2009.

By Monday afternoon, the Bengals vs. Browns game was the most bet on of the Week 4 NFL slate, with the Bengals getting all the action as an early -5 ½ road favorite.

Analysts believe the Bengals might be 3-0 today if not for that late second touchdown during Week 1 by the Denver Broncos, a team that is equally a big surprise thus far.  Last week's win in hostile Green Bay raised eyebrows since the Bengals had not played there in ages.  This week's last minute win against the reigning Super Bowl champion Steelers has many people believing this could be the Bengals year.

"There is little reason to believe the Bengals can't beat Cleveland next week and go 3-1 to start the season," says Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.

Some early stats show that Cincinnati is 5-1 ATS in its last 6 games and, perhaps more importantly, 7-2 SU in its last 9 games when playing Cleveland.

Cincinnati is also 4-2 ATS in its last 6 games when playing on the road against Cleveland.

Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer was on fire as this game was wrapping up, leading the Bengals 71 yards in 16 plays, which resulted  in a 4-yard touchdown throw to receiver Andre Caldwell in the final seconds.

"The Bengals of old would have laid down," receiver Chad Ochocinco said. "We would have been rattled."

The Bengals snapped an eight-game home losing streak (playoffs included) against the Steelers. It was also the first win in their last six meetings overall for the Bengals.

Yes, these Bengals are looking like they're for real this season!
