Bookies Make Out Like Bandits Early for Week 3 NFL

The bookies were celebrating after the first half of Sunday’s Week 3 NFL games following big public losses.

The Vikings were the most wagered on side of the week and they failed to cover against Cleveland.  They were also a big bet on the moneyline but failed to even win against the Browns at home.

Then there was the Green Bay Packers, the second most bet on side of the day.  They, too, failed to win their respective game as Cincinnati came through as the home underdog.

Another heavily wagered on public favorite, the New York Giants, were blown out on the road by the Carolina Panthers.

The Texans were crushed by Baltimore while San Diego pushed versus Tennessee.

The Atlanta Falcons had an opportunity to salvage the day for the betting public as a late afternoon -2.5 to -3 road favorite in Miami.

“Odds are we won’t see as much late action coming in on the Sunday Night game since so many gamblers lost everything early on,” notes Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.

This was a banner day for the bookies to kick things off.  They will really make out big with a Steelers cover Sunday evening as around 75 percent of the public action rolled in on Chicago as a -2 to -3 road favorite.

Denver was seeing close to 65 percent of the action in Monday Night’s game with Oakland a +14 dog.
