Alabama Crimson Tide Football:

Alabama Crimson Tide football was seeing the most betting action across the board heading into Week 6 of the regular 2010 College Football season.  Despite the heavy lopsided action (95 percent or greater at some online sportsbooks), the line in this game has moved only a half point at SBG Global (to -6 ½ vs. South Carolina), seemingly encouraging even more action on Albama.

This is yet another in three consecutive challenging games for the Tide as they go up against number 19 South Carolina.

"I think the biggest thing is being able to continue to challenge yourself and challenge each other to improve and play to a standard, and I think that's what we really want to try to do here,” Alabama coach Nick Saban said.

“The Crimson Tide football team has won an amazing 19 in a row so it is no wonder the gambling public would be backing this team the way they are”, said Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.

Of course bettors need to beware of a potential trap as this love affair with the Tide becomes overwhelming.

Alabama beat South Carolina at home last year by 14 points but failed to cover the 18-point line.

The Scouts Preview over at ESPN.com has Alabama only able to beat South Carolina by 5 points.

Mark Ingram rushed for 246 yards in an ugly 20-6 slugfest last season in Tuscaloosa, but neither defense is as stout this year. Expect a higher-scoring affair this time around. Alabama has better personnel at nearly every position and is playing at a higher level than the Gamecocks in all three phases of the game, but don't be surprised if Steve Spurrier's bunch gives the Crimson Tide a scare. Playing on the road in the SEC is always challenging, especially when facing a top-20 opponent for the third straight week. It will take a strong showing from Greg McElroy and his receivers for the Tide to remain undefeated.
