If this past week's USA vs. Algeria game is any indication, ABC should have an absolute ratings bonanza Saturday afternoon with the USA Ghana game.

USA vs. Algeria provided ESPN with its highest ratings and largest audience in the history of soccer games broadcast on that network.  4.6 million households tuned in with 6.1 viewers overall.  That game also scored the highest ratings on television for the entire day among two key demographic groups, males 18-34 and males 35-49.

The USA Ghana game goes off at 2:30 pm EST on ABC and will most certainly have more viewers since the broadcast will take place on a weekend day when most Americans are home from work and school.

The 2010 World Cup clash between USA and England drew the fifth-best rating ever for a World Cup game. This one was broadcast on ABC.  In addition to ranking behind the 1994 Romania-U.S. game (9.2), it trails only the 1994 Brazil-Italy final (12.8), the 1994 Brazil-U.S. game (10.4). The 2006 Italy-France final received an 8.6 rating.
