Oscars 2010 odds for Best Director have been published by SBG Global for Sunday's big night.  (see Oscars 2010 odds here)

The favorite is not James Cameron of Avatar fame as many might believe.  In fact, he would pay out $15 for every $10 bet (+150) if he were to win the Oscar for Best Director.

Instead we have Kathryn Bigelow, Director of The Hurt Locker, as a huge -650 favorite (one would have to bet $65 to win $10 and the $65 bet is refunded only if she wins).

Kathryn Bigelow will make Oscars history on Sunday if she becomes the first woman filmmaker to be crowned best director in the 82-year history of the Academy Awards.  Interestingly enough there were four women nominated for this year's "Best Director" category so we are very likely to bare witness to a historic moment when it comes to the Oscars.

After Avatar was initially posted as the big favorite to win "Best Picture", The Hurt Locker has replaced that film as the new favorite in recent days at some online gambling websites, including SBG Global, where it is the -200 favorite and Avatar had even odds.

Oscars 2010 Odds for Best Director appear below.

Jason Reitman (Up in the Air)

Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker)
