Odds to Win Best Supporting Actress at 2013 Oscars: Anne Hathaway a ‘Lock’

The odds to win Best Actress at the 2013 Oscars had Anne Hathaway as a huge 800/1 odds favourite, meaning one would have to bet $800 just to win $10 at Bookmaker.  There are of course other more competitive betting odds worth considering in categories such as Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor

Never in the history of online Oscars betting as such a huge favourite lost.

Hathaway portrayed Fantine in “Les Misérables”.  Her character is a young grisette in Paris who becomes pregnant by a rich student. After he abandons her, she is forced to look after her child, Cosette, on her own.  Fantine will later turn to prostitution.

The 30-year-old has been nominated before but did not win.

Anne said: “I don’t think ahead to the Oscars – whatever happens, happens.

“It won’t be the worst thing to ever happen to me if I don’t win. And with my husband by my side, winning wouldn’t be the best thing that’s happened to me either. I’ve been lucky to win a lot of awards since we got married though. He’s definitely a lucky charm, in more ways than awards.”
