Jul 12 2008 - 11:35pm

Among the hottest bets heading into Sunday's uber gambling event - the 2008 Miss Universe Pageant - Miss Mexico could very well be the hottest. Miss Mexico had been listed with +1100 odds and was at +800 heading into the Sunday morning hours for a payout potential of US$800 for every US$100 bet at  Bookmaker.com.

The reigning Miss Mexico won the Miss Universe 2008 swim suit event on July 2 and is the top nominee in the "Best Body" category.

Apart from her looks, Najera has a solid head on her shoulders. She is studying food engineering and wants to join her mother, a chef, in a career in gastronomy.

"We have to start thinking in ways to make nutritious, economic and delicious food instead of the unhealthy, and over processed food that we are used to eating nowadays," Najera told Miss Universe reporters.

Last year's Miss Mexico was also a favorite to be crowned Miss Universe.
