Matthew McConaughey Odds of Winning an Oscar Sort of a ‘Lock’

When you have certain Academy Awards categories with a nominee favored at -2000 odds, -700 for Matthew McConaughey might not necessarily be considered a “lock” per se.  One would have to bet $70 to win $10 at WagerWeb.com (with the $70 refunded assuming McConaughey were to win).

“These are some of the best numbers to bet,” notes Payton O’Brien, Senior Editor of the Gambling911.com website.  “That’s because he is a huge favorite and there has rarely been any big upset when it comes to the Oscars.  Likewise, while the risk is certainly high, there is an almost guaranteed profit without going overboard with the risk.”

If one has $210 to bet, they can make an easy $30 profit as an example.  And who doesn’t want an easy $30?  You just have to be cognizant of the slim possibility of a loss here.

McConaughey was nominated for his role in “Dallas Buyers Club”, a role which required him to lose 38 pounds.  He has already received a Golden Globe award for his role in the film.
