The Hurt Locker is a second favorite after Avatar to win "Best Picture" at this year's Oscars.  Hurt Locker was set at +120 odds (or near even) while Avatar sat at -250.  All odds were courtesy of Sportsbook.com.

The Hurt Locker continues to gain momentum and might be a good bet. The film follows a United States Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team during the Iraq War as they contend with defusing bombs, the threat of insurgency, and the tension that develops among them.

A day after they each won Art Directors Guild awards, The Hurt Locker and Avatar went head-to-head at the American Cinema Editors' Eddie Awards, with The Hurt Locker emerging victorious in the Dramatic Film category.

"It's looking more and more like the ‘Best Picture' duel will be between Avatar and The Hurt Locker and don't count at the later," advises Gambling911.com Senior Editor, Payton O'Brien.

The Oscars represents the third most bet on single day event of the year for online gambling sites after the Kentucky Derby and Super Bowl.
