Best Actor Odds for 2012 Academy Awards a Tight Race

Like the category for Best Actress, the Best Actor odds for the 2012 Academy Awards was also proving to be a very tight race, making this year’s Oscars one of the most compelling in terms of overall wagering.

The two frontrunners were George Clooney for “The Descendants” at even odds and Jean Dujardin for “The Artist” as the technical -130 favorite.

“Typically over the years, the ‘Best Actor’ category was nearly impossible to wager on since the favorite would be ridiculously priced,” notes Payton O’Brien, Operations Manager for the Gambling911.com website.  “This year’s Oscars will be worth betting on.”

The Academy Awards is traditionally among the top 5 most wagered on single day events of the year and the most bet on nonsporting event after the U.S. Presidential race.
