“Argo” was now a huge 1/8 favorite to win the 2013 Academy Award for Best Picture.  “Lincoln” had been an EVEN favorite when nominations were first announced.  That film is now listed at 4/1 odds.  Typically, big favorites always win when it comes to the Oscars.

The Best Actor category was also a “lock” with Daniel Day-Lewis a 1/300 impossible to bet favorite for his role in “Lincoln”.

Best Actress appeared to be a “lock” earlier this week, however, Jennifer Lawrence was only a 1/2 favorite for “Sliver Linings Playbook” now with Emmanuelle Riva at 9/5 odds for “Amour” and Jessica Chastain at 4/1 odds for “Zero Dark Thirty”.  The Best Actress Oscar is definitely up for grabs this year

There was some value for those betting who will take home the Oscar for Best Director as Stephen Spielberg had odds of 1/4 for “Lincoln”.  This is not quite a “lock”.  Ang Lee had relatively short odds for “Life of Pi”.

Best Supporting Actor was a tight competition between Christoph Waltz for “Django Unchained” at 2/3 odds and Tommy Lee Jones for “Lincoln” with 6/5 odds.  Robert De Nero was a bit of a long shot to win for his role in “Sliver Linings Playbook” though there was certainly some value here

Best Supporting Actress had Anne Hathaway as the “lock” at 1/200 odds starring in Les Miserables.
