McCain has nothing to say that makes any sense right now at all. He's going after earmarks for christ's sake. Earmarks. About one percent of the federal budget. Our budget deficit is exponentially larger than 1 percent and this guy is going to deal with our budget problems by cutting back ear marks? The truth about McCain and Palin is they are both from net taker states, at least as of 2005 which is the most recent year I have data for. McCain's state, A net taker state is a state that takes in more in federal money than it pays in federal income taxes. Alaska has one of the worst records, being the #3 in 2005, taking in over a $1.80 for every $1 paid in federal taxes. Alaska remains today, one of the most gifted states in terms of ear marks and per capita government spending, the highest in the nation. Palin did NOTHING to address this. The bridge to nowhere story would have had some credibility, had she gave the money back. But she didn't. She basically said "We're not going to build the bridge anymore, like we had lobbied you for years congress, instead, we're going to pretend like this was your stupid idea and then we're going to keep the money and spend it." Arizona has not once, in all of John McCain's years, been a net giver state, always a taker, always taking in more in federal funds than its people pay in taxes. Unless that changed in 2006 or 2007, that's a verifiable fact. For McCain to go after Obama, who is from a net giver state, and a state that has been a net giver during every single year of McCain's time in office, is seriously ludicrous. Illinois is one of those unfortunate states that gets back only 75 cents for every dollar it pays in federal taxes, essentially subsidizing McCain and Palin's home states. Can anyone blame Obama for going after ear marks? Why should the good people of Illinois have to pay the way of the leeches in Arizona and Alaska? They have every right to go after that money, moreso than Alaskans or Arizonans do. When these numbers start being made public, and the republican fraud is seen for what it is, everyone will know Palin and McCain are frauds. They are from dependent states who take more than they give, and they don't pull their weight, all the while crying about taxes. Meanwhile, the "liberal" states that are always maligned by republicans, are overwhelmingly the ones paying the excess that the "conservative" states like Alaska and Arizona suck up. Essentially, liberals foot the bill while conservatives cry about it. That's pathetic and that's largely the way it is. Why the mainstream media or the Obama campaign is not jumping on this, I don't know, but they should. I'm really tired of tools in red states whining about my state, California, when we foot the bill for all the pork in their home states. When they are the dependents, not my state California, which has been a net giver for the last 25 years. Republicans are frauds. Red states are frauds. Let everyone look into the tax numbers for themselves. It's clear to see. Texas is the only decent red state in the bunch. God bless Texas, but the rest of them are leeches and I'm sick of them having their way with my tax dollars. If they want all this crap spending, they should improve their economies to generate more revenue, not pick the pockets of blue states who walk the business walk, instead of just talking the business talk.
