Tim, I just have to say that you are a very brave man. Most people that are throwing stones come from the 80% of all humans that will do something considered wrong if they know or think they can get away with it. You didn't do anything that unusual you just happened to get caught. You know there is a bell curve, 10% of people would never do anything wrong, 10% will do things wrong no matter what and then there are all the others who will do things wrong if given the perfect opportunity. You didn't do anything most of us wouldn't have done you just got caught. Take a deep breath and just go on with life. If the wife left you she never really loved you to begin with. I say that very easily knowing there is nothing that would make me feel differently about my spouse. You hold your head up high and just know that most of the people throwing stones have much worse skeletons in their closet
