Mine That Bird won the Kentucky Derby at 50/1 odds. Quality Road was the early Derby favorite before having to be scratched the week of due to quarter cracks in his hooves.
Summer Bird won the Belmont Stakes and Travers Stakes at Saratoga over Quality Road.
Zenyatta is the unbeaten, and previous winner of the Female Classic. She has a very late running style and has trumped the Southern California tracks.
Musket Man has been sent out to the farm with a bone bruise and is done racing for the rest of the year. Make sure to watch this guy come 2010, as he's a competitor with Top 3 finishes in the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes.
Regal Ransom is the front runner out of Godolphin, owned by Sheik Muhammad, the ruler of Dubai. I wouldn't look for him to be able to close a classic distance against these competitors.
Papa Clem struggled in his last start, the Del Mar Derby. I would be surprised if he runs in the Classic, let alone hits the board.
You'll need to watch out for a horse named Einstein. He's a contender and threat every race, on any surface. He should be in for a good price, and it would be silly to not play him in your exotics.
