Most 8 to 14 year old girls vote for Kris because they think he's hot. They will swear it's talent, but in every other breath they keep saying he's hot. Many that vote for Gokey vote because they think his dead wife would be happy if he'd win, and if they are evangelical etc, think that Gokey is a good Christian boy while Adam isn't worthy of this. And finally most that vote for Adam, vote soley on the fact that he's the most talented vocalwise. Add in that the amount of very young teens, mostly girls that vote and text with new cell phones have likely tripled over the past 5 seasons of idol, evidenced by many more young girls waving their arms on the idol set, and there you have it. I'm not saying all people vote this way.. But I am saying that if you add in the additional OMG-Kris-IS-Sooo-HOOT! voters, it's very easy to see why Kris for example is still there instead of say Allison even though Kris is slightly off in pitch in nearly every performance. That said, NO, it's not impossible that Kris could go head to head with Adam and even win American Idol 2009. All for the wrong reasons obviously. And Danny could win with additional votes added by kids who think his sob story is great. And the evangelicals that will not vote for Adam just because of his orientation. Again, they're talented, but not on the same level as say Adam.
