James Henderson Expected to Replace Outgoing William Hill CEO Ralph Topping

Online bookmaker William Hill is set to replace outgoing CEO Ralph Topping with the company’s current Director of Operations James Henderson, according to media reports that circulated over the weekend.

The firm downplayed rumors Monday morning, however, telling EGR Magazine they have yet to make a definitive decision.

Replacing Topping has been a priority for William Hill since announcing his retirement earlier in the year.   He has been CEO of the UK’s biggest bookmaker since 2008.

“Ralph Topping has previously indicated his intention to retire by the end of 2015,” William Hill said in a statement back in February. “The board has an ongoing process to identify his successor from among both internal and external candidates.”

This is Money announced that William Hill were looking to have his replacement named by year’s end.

Henderson has been with William Hill for nearly 30 years.
