Bwin Signs Three-Year Deal With Football Club Manchester United

The world’s largest online sports betting firm, Bwin, confirmed on Thursday that it has signed a three-year sponsorship deal with England Premier League football club Manchester United for an undisclosed amount.

"Man Utd has 569 million followers outside of Europe, providing us with a great opportunity to offer jointly designed and innovative products in countries that do not yet allow real money online sports betting," said bwin.party's co-CEO Norbert Teufelberger, who noted that football betting makes up approximately half the company’s sports betting revenue.

Bwin is currently the shirt sponsor for Spanish football club Real Madrid.

Manchester United debuted on the New York Stock Exchange last week and enjoys a series of commercial linkups that include the likes of insurance broker AON.  Man United raised $233m (£150m), less than originally hoped.  The flotation values the club at more than $2.3bn.
