The global Web traffic site BetRankings.com reports that Bet365.com, run by the formidable John Coates, was outpacing rivals William Hill and Ladbrokes as of last week.

Bet365, which is partnered with a pioneer in offshore call center betting, Bowman’s, ranked 2nd with Betfair leading the pack.

William Hill came in 3rd while bwin followed in 4th place and Ladbrokes came in 5th.

Ladbrokes recently purged some of its execs for failing to stay competitive with rival William Hill.

As reported by Gambling911.com on Monday, Betfair is looking to build its web presence in the States by meeting with representatives involved with a New Jersey lawsuit led by The Interactive Media Entertainment & Gaming Association.

Sports betting operators in Europe will only be able to break into the U.S. market at the state level since current legislation drafted by Congressman Barney Frank (D-Mass) pertains exclusively to online poker.

The BetRankings.com website was put together by mathematicians who derive their information from traffic measurement data available at multiple consumer Web tracking services.
