UNC Asheville vs. Syracuse Line has Orange as -17 Point Favorite

This is UNC Asheville’s second straight tournament appearance after winning three games in the Big South tournament by an average of 23 points. This team has proven they can hang with the big boys a la a 72-68 loss in Tennessee and a 10 point loss on a neutral court against UConn. They also managed to give powerhouse North Carolina fits for half a game before falling 91-75.
It is interesting to note that UNC-Asheville is 8-1 Against The Spread in all tournament games over the last 2 seasons.
The Orange (31-2) won 17 of 18 league games, losing only to Notre Dame, however, they did fall to Cincinnati 71-68 in the semifinals of the Big East tournament. Whether this motivates them more to crush UNC Asheville early on remains to be seen.
